Bengals' Vontaze Burfict placed on backboard, carted off with head injury on Monday night
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was placed on a backboard and carted to the locker room with a head injury on Monday Night Football in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Burfict suffered the injury when Steelers rookie wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster obliterated him with an illegal block in what was a slobber-knocker of a contest on Monday night. The 27-year-old linebacker was able to move his arms after the hit. He had 6 tackles before leaving.
Burfict has 66 tackles (58 solo) with 2 sacks, 2 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble in nine games this season. Entering Week 14, the Bengals rank 20th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points allowed per play.
