Giants unlikely to bench Eli Manning during 2017 season

The New York Giants have no plans of benching Eli Manning "barring a catastrophic event," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

Head coach Ben McAdoo has apparently walked back his earlier remark that said the Giants could "throw another guy in there to get a look at." If the team has any doubt about Manning returning as an effective starter in 2018, it would make sense to give third-round rookie Davis Webb an extended look down the stretch, but apparently they still feel Eli is their guy. Perhaps the Giants will reconsider at a later date but for now, fantasy owners can expect Manning to finish out the season under center.

Our models project Manning for 2,082.3 passing yards, 12.1 touchdowns, and 8.9 interceptions on 312.7 passing attempts over the rest of the year. That would be good for 119.6 fantasy points, the 20th-most among quarterbacks in 2017.
