Patriots reportedly claim Packers' tight end Martellus Bennett on waivers
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots have claimed Martellus Bennett on waivers from the Green Bay Packers.
Bennett won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2016, so the reunion doesn't come as a shocker. The Packers released the veteran tight end after he failed to disclose a medical condition designation. Bennett has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since Week 7.
Bennett turned 38 targets into 24 receptions, 233 yards and 0 touchdowns this year. His 0.37 Reception Net Expected Points per target rank 25th among the 26 tight ends with at least 30 targets on the year.
