Vontae Davis (groin) criticized by Colts' general manager for poor play
Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard said defensive back Vontae Davis (groin) "hasn't played very well."
Davis, who was a healthy scratch in Week 9, has already been ruled out for Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in what was originally thought to be an effort to rehab his groin injury, but Ballard says doctors cleared the former first-round pick weeks ago. Per Pro Football Focus, the two-time Pro Bowler is 84th out of 115 qualified cornerbacks this season.
Davis has 21 tackles (16 solo) in five games this season. The Colts rank a poor 31st in Adjusted Passing Defensive Net Expected Points allowed per play.
