Packers release Martellus Bennett (shoulder)
The Green Bay Packers have released tight end Martellus Bennett.
The release came with a failure to disclose a medical condition designation. Bennett has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since Week 7. Lance Kendricks will be the team's top tight end with Bennett gone, while Richard Rodgers also stands to see increased playing time.
Bennett turned 38 targets into 24 receptions, 233 yards and 0 touchdowns this year. His 0.37 Reception Net Expected Points per target rank 25th among the 26 tight ends with at least 30 targets on the year.
