Ameer Abdullah wants Lions to give him more scoring opportunities
Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah said he wants more carries in short-yardage and red-zone situations.
Abdullah has seen just 8 carries in the red zone this season, and the Lions haven't handed it to him once on third down, opting to go with Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner in those situations instead. These comments come after a Sunday night game in Week 8 where the Lions twice failed to convert on fourth-and-goal situations in what wound up being a 20-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Abdullah has just 1 touchdown this season, but perhaps the Lions will look to get him more involved in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers.
numberFire's models project Abdullah to rush 11.7 times for 48.8 yards and 0.37 touchdowns with 1.8 catches for 12.1 yards and 0.02 touchdowns versus the Packers, which would produce 9.1 FanDuel points at a cost of $6,100. He's tied as the RB19 in our Week 9 fantasy rankings.
