Kelvin Benjamin to immediately start as Bills' 'X' receiver
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin will immediately start as the team's "X" receiver, according to Sirius XM's Adam Caplan.
Earlier today, Benjamin was traded from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for third- and seventh-round picks in the 2018 draft. As he did with his former team, the 26-year-old will occupy the lead wide receiver spot as Zay Jones slides to the "Z" and Jordan Matthews, a natural slot, mans the third wide receiver position for Buffalo.
Post-trade, we project Benjamin for 40.8 catches, 591.2 yards and 4.45 touchdowns on 68.2 targets the rest of the season. For Thursday's Week 9 matchup with the New York Jets, our models like him to haul in 5.2 passes for 70.7 yards and 0.58 touchdowns.
