Paxton Lynch (shoulder) not a candidate to start Week 9 for Broncos

Denver Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch (shoulder) is not a candidate to start Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Vance Joseph said.

What It Means:

Joseph points to a lack of practice time as the reason for Lynch not being considered. He's only turned in three limited sessions since being cleared to resume practicing from a right shoulder sprain. It will be either Trevor Siemian or Brock Osweiler under center for the Broncos in Week 9, but it seems likely that Lynch eventually makes a start for Denver this season.

In three games (two starts) as a rookie last year, Lynch completed 49-of-83 passes for 497 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.
