Cardinals place Carson Palmer (arm) on injured reserve

The Arizona Cardinals have placed quarterback Carson Palmer on injured reserve with a broken left arm, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

What It Means:

Basically, this puts an end to Palmer's season. He was originally set to be back within 4-to-6 weeks but Palmer wouldn't be available to return until Week 16, at which point the Cardinals will probably be well out of the NFC playoff hunt. Drew Stanton will replace the veteran as the Cardinals wrap up what is a lost season in Arizona.

In 7 games, Palmer averaged 15.6 FanDuel points while throwing for 1,978, 9 touchdowns and 7 interceptions this season. He has one year and $12.5 million remaining on his current contract.
