Seahawks sign Dwight Freeney to one-year deal
The Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent defensive lineman Dwight Freeney to a one-year deal, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Freeney is taking the roster spot of Cliff Avril, who is on injured reserve with a neck injury. The 37-year-old Freeney appeared in 15 games with the Atlanta Falcons last season, collecting 3 sacks and 7 tackles. The Seahawks are the 16-year veteran's 5th NFL team.
