Browns' Joe Thomas officially out for year with torn triceps

The Cleveland Browns announced left tackle Joe Thomas will miss the rest of the season with a torn left triceps.

What It Means:

It's a huge blow for a winless Browns team and will end his personal streak of 167 consecutive starts. Thomas is expected to miss 6-to-9 months and said he will think about his future in the offseason. Cleveland selected Thomas with the third pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and he turns 33 in December.

The Browns mustered 9 points against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, marking the second time in the past four weeks they were held below 10 points.
