Redskins start Ryan Grant in place of DeSean Jackson
Ryan Grant is the Washington Redskins' starting wide receiver opposite Pierre Garcon in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams.
This is a big step for the young receiver, who was a rookie in the 2014 class. If he impresses, he might hang onto this job over veteran slot man Andre Roberts for the foreseeable future, as DeSean Jackson is out for at least three more weeks. Grant isn't huge or fast, but is a slick route-runner with sure hands. He'll still likely be third in the pecking order behind Garçon and tight end Jordan Reed.
Despite his recent promotion, we don't have much faith in Grant for Week 2. Our algorithms project him at 1 catch for 16 yards. With Kirk Cousins under center, the ball isn't flying around the yard a ton.
