Brian Hoyer benched heading into Week 7 for 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers have benched veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer in favor of rookie 3rd round rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard heading into Week 7.
Hoyer has done very little as the starter through the first six weeks. After an 0-6 start to the season and Beathard looking good in relief of Hoyer in Week 6, the veteran has been benched.
Through six games, Hoyer was 119-for-205 (58.0%) with 1,245 yards, 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Out of the seven quarterbacks with at least 200 pass attempts in 2017, Hoyer's -0.07 Net Expected Points per Pass attempt was easily the worst.
