Darren McFadden expected to be Cowboys' lead back going forward

Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden is expected to serve as the team's lead back with Ezekiel Elliott suspended, according to DallasCowboys.com's Bryan Broaddus.

What It Means:

Elliott's suspension was upheld by the court, so he's set to be out for six weeks starting with Week 7. The Cowboys are on bye this week, but Broaddus expects McFadden to lead a two-back approach between he and Alfred Morris. It's not a lock, although McFadden would match the skillset of Elliott much more than Morris, who isn't known for being a receiver out of the backfield.

Our models project McFadden for 222.6 rush yards, 2.23 touchdowns and 20.9 catches the rest of the year. For Week 7, we like him to take 7.8 carries for 30.4 rushing yards and 0.36 touchdowns while tallying 2.9 catches and a total of 9.3 FanDuel points against the San Francisco 49ers.
