Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott's ban to start Week 7, likely to appeal
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension is now in effect, confirmed NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart.
"Mr. Elliott is now suspended," Lockhart said. "He will not play over the next six games unless there’s some other affirmative judgement." The Cowboys are on their bye this week, leaving nine days for another decision to be handed down before their Week 7 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. However, with Elliott currently unavailable, Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden will fill the void in Dallas' backfield.
If he winds up being allowed to play out the remainder of the season, numberFire's models project Elliott for 1,067.2 rushing yards, 262.1 receiving yards, and 12.20 total touchdowns over the final 10 weeks.
