Report: Saints trade Adrian Peterson to Cardinals for conditional draft pick

The New Orleans Saints have traded running back Adrian Peterson to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a conditional draft pick according to ESPN's Dianna Russini.

What It Means:

Peterson was not getting used much in New Orleans with Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram running the ball well. With the injury to David Johnson, the Cardinals made the move to bring in Peterson in hopes the veteran can slide into a meaningful backfield role. This pretty much kills the fantasy value of Chris Johnson, and it likely doesn't help Andre Ellington's value too much either. However, it definitely helps Ingram and Kamara's fantasy stock back in New Orleans.

Our models project Peterson to post 21.2 yards on 6.2 carries, and 1.2 catches for 6.4 yards in the receiving game in Week 6. That's a net of just 3.8 FanDuel points in his Cardinals debut at a cost of $5,300.
