Packers' Jamaal Williams (knee) avoids major injury

Green Bay Packers rookie running back Jamaal Williams' (knee) MRI came back negative, and it's believed he's avoided a long-term injury, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

What It Means:

Per Schefter, Williams avoided any ligament damage and he "could miss next game, not more." With Ty Montgomery (ribs) facing a multi-week absence, Aaron Jones is currently the leader of the Packers' backfield. They travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in Week 5.

Williams rushed 4 times for 11 yards in Week 4 before exiting. Per numberFire Live, he finished last on the Packers with -1.50 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP), meaning a league average running back would have scored 1.50 more points than Williams did if put in similar situations. For reference, Montgomery led the team with 1.37 Rushing NEP.
