Devin Street could start for Cowboys in Dez Bryant's place

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Devin Street could end up starting as the team's No. 2 receiver with Dez Bryant out, according to Bryan Broaddus of Cowboys.com.

What It Means:

This is nothing definitive as Broaddus called it a "gut feeling." If Street does start, it would likely be on the outside opposite of Terrance Williams with Cole Beasley in the slot. The Cowboys had previously stated that they were impressed with improvements Street had made in the offseason.

Based on the targets Lance Dunbar and Jason Witten got in Week 1, Street isn't worthy of an add just yet outside of deep leagues. Street played 16 games last year, garnering 2 receptions on 7 targets for 18 yards. If he can crack the starting lineup and get volume, there is upside as the Cowboys finished second in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play in 2014.
