Chiefs place Cairo Santos (groin) on injured reserve
The Kansas City Chiefs have placed kicker Cairo Santos on injured reserve, reports The Kansas City Star's Terez A. Paylor.
Santos was hit hard on a field goal attempt on Sunday, after which a penalty was called on a Los Angeles Chargers player that banged into Santos' legs after he missed the kick. The injury is unclear, but Paylor notes that Santos sat out three weeks of camp with a groin injury and kicked through it in the first three games this season. As of now, it's not certain whether Santos will return this season, but the Chiefs have signed Harrison Butker from the Carolina Panthers' practice squad as his replacement.
Santos was a perfect 12-for-12 on extra points and 3-for-3 on field goals prior to the injury. His 21 fantasy points rank 18th among all kickers this season.
