Chargers' Antonio Gates looks to add to touchdown record in Week 3
In Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers tight end Antonio Gates caught his 112th touchdown pass as a tight end, breaking his tie with Tony Gonzalez for the NFL record.
Gates only caught 2-of-4 targets for 11 yards, but a 7-yard touchdown pass from Phillip Rivers got him in the record books. Splitting snaps with Hunter Henry could make both inconsistent fantasy assets, as they each have just 7 targets through two weeks. The Chargers face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.
Our models rank Gates at the TE11 in Week 3, projecting him for 2.9 receptions, 36.9 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns. That would net him 7.3 FanDuel points at his $5,000 cost.
