Backup Cincinnati Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron defended starter Andy Dalton following the team's 0-2 start and poor play on offense.

In a 13-9 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 2, Dalton completed just 20-of-35 passes for 224 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. The Bengals have yet to score a touchdown this season, and fired offensive coordinator Ken Zampese after the loss. Bill Lazor is now in charge of the offense. Dalton will look for that elusive first score against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.
