Giants, Odell Beckham open to in-season contract extension
The New York Giants and wide receiver Odell Beckham are both open to completing an in-season contract extension, reports CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora.
There have been multiple reports about the two sides working toward an extension in the last few months, but there hasn't been any substance to the talks yet. Most of the time, players and teams don't like to go through negotiations during the season, but Beckham is making just $1.8 million in 2017 and is one of the best wideouts in the game. He is set to hit free agency after next season, however, the Giants would be smart to lock him up before OBJ reaches the final year of his rookie contract.
In his season debut on Monday, Beckham turned out 36 yards on 4 catches and 5 targets. Our models project him to tally 6.2 receptions, 72.7 yards, 0.58 touchdowns and 13.7 FanDuel points in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
