Mike Glennon will remain the Bears' starter despite dreadful Week 2

Chicago Bears quarterback Mike Glennon will remain the team's starter, head coach John Fox said.

What It Means:

"I don't think anybody ... without even seeing the tape yet that you can pin that on the quarterback," Fox said following the Bears' 29-7 Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "Everybody had their hand in that." Glennon completed 31-of-45 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown, but he also fumbled and threw a pair of interceptions, one of which was returned for a score. In his defense, Chicago's abysmal receiving group committed a handful of awful drops, but Mitchell Trubisky's NFL debut may not be far away. The Bears face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3.

Glennon's 12.0 FanDuel points on Sunday were right in line with numberFire's Week 2 projections (12.9 points) for him. Per numberFire Live, he finished with -4.96 Net Expected Points (NEP) versus the Buccaneers, meaning a league average wide receiver would have scored 4.96 more points than Glennon did if put in similar situations.
