Adrian Peterson will continue to be little-used by Saints
The New Orleans Saints have not "ever discussed featuring [running back Adrian Peterson] like he was featured in Minnesota," head coach Sean Payton said.
What It Means:
Peterson wasn't pleased with playing just nine snaps in Week 1, but it doesn't sound like he'll be getting the squeaky wheel treatment. The aging, run-only Peterson is shaping up to be a poor fit for the pass-first scheme. Just like in Week 1, he will struggle to find touches in games when New Orleans isn't far ahead and killing clock.
Our models project Peterson outside the top-40 fantasy backs this week, with just 8.8 carries for 33.3 yards and 0.3 touchdowns. That should be good for just 6.15 FanDuel points at a salary of $5,900 in Week 2.
