Patriots' Rex Burkhead is expected to see more snaps in Week 2
New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead could see more snaps in Week 2, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.
Following Danny Amendola getting ruled out against the New Orleans Saints, the Patriots are very thin at wide receiver, and may need to use their running backs more in their passing attack. Reiss is confident that means Burkhead will exceed the 10 snaps he played in Week 1. While Reiss does not expect Burkhead to necessarily play much out of the slot, he suggests the Patriots may deploy both Burkhead and James White on the field together to get them involved in the passing game.
For Week 2, numberFire's models project Burkhead for 26.6 total yards and 0.2 touchdowns on just 4.4 touches. On FanDuel, that comes to 4.2 fantasy points at his $5,000 salary.
