Dolphins' Julius Thomas looking to rediscover red zone success

Miami Dolphins tight end Julius Thomas is reunited with head coach Adam Gase, who was Thomas' offensive coordinator during the first four seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos.

What It Means:

Thomas averaged 16.5 red zone targets from 2013-2014 during his two seasons playing under Gase in Denver. That's a big improvement over the 17 total red zone targets that he saw over the past two seasons as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to Pro Football Focus, 69.7% of Thomas' career touchdowns have come in the red zone.

Our models project Thomas for 3.33 receptions, 33.19 yards, and 0.29 touchdowns in Week 2. That's good enough for 6.72 FanDuel points at a cost of $5,000.
