Texans' D'Onta Foreman rushes 12 times in second game

Houston Texans rookie running back D'Onta Foreman rushed 12 times for 40 yards in Thursday night's Week 2 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

What It Means:

Foreman was significantly more involved in Week 2 after his one-carry NFL debut and after the first handful of possessions, he and Lamar Miller (18 carries) were essentially in an even rotation. The third-round pick isn't about to usurp Miller as the starter, but he did appear to be the more explosive back and things could be headed more towards a backfield committee in Houston as they try to rely on their ground game as much as possible.

Foreman's 4.0 FanDuel points on Thursday wasn't much, but it did exceed numberFire's Week 3 expectations (2.1 points). Per numberFire Live, he led the Texans with -1.59 Rushing Net Expected Points (RNEP) in Week 2, meaning a league average running back would have scored 1.59 more points than Foreman did if put in similar situations. For reference, Miller finished with -3.94 RNEP.
