Giants more optimistic about Odell Beckham (ankle) for Week 2
The New York Giants have "much more optimism" about wide receiver Odell Beckham's chances of playing against the Detroit Lions on Monday night, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport is also reporting that Beckham wanted to play in Week 1 and that he said he would definitely be on the field for the team's second game of the season. This is nothing short of encouraging for season-long fantasy owners and fans alike. However, if Beckham is forced to miss Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepherd and Evan Engram will be asked to carry a heavier workload in the Giants' passing game.
Our models have Beckham down for 5.6 targets, 3.5 receptions, 51.9 yards and 0.44 touchdowns in his 2017 debut. And though OBJ's still priced ($8,600) as a top-3 wideout on FanDuel, we see reason for caution as he returns from injury this week.
