Flacco: Mike Campanaro could take over Danny Woodhead role in Baltimore

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco said that wide receiver Mike Campanaro could be the one to fill the void left by Danny Woodhead (hamstring).

What It Means:

With Woodhead expected to miss six-to-eight weeks, the Ravens will look for others to step up in the short passing game in his stead. But while most reports have Buck Allen taking over Woodhead's carries, not to mention his targets out of the backfield, the Ravens' quarterback might be on to something. After all, Campanaro was a running back in high school and has the pass-catching ability to be Flacco's check-down guy.

Campanaro went without a target in Week 1 and is injury prone himself, so this is just talk for now. The wideout is projected for just 4.7 catches and 48.8 yards on 9.0 targets the rest of the year but if this chatter materializes into something more, Campanaro could become a PPR target.
