Philadelphia Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis has a quad strain in his plant leg that will force him to be out several weeks according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
It's unclear when Sturgis suffered the injury, but the Eagles will try out kickers this week and a signing will likely come sooner rather than later. Expect Sturgis to go on injured reserve with a chance to return later in the season.
Sturgis was a perfect 3-for-3 on Sunday with field goals of 37, 42, and 50 yards. He made 1 out of 2 extra point attempts, but there is a chance the Eagles passed on him kicking a third extra point late in the game because of the injury.
