Deshaun Watson expected to start Week 2 for Texans
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is expected to start the team's Week 2 game versus the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
Watson started the second half for Houston's Week 1 game after Tom Savage was unable to do get the offense going through the first two quarters. Watson came out hot, scoring a touchdown in his first drive, but struggled just as much as Savage did after that. The rookie finished his day by completing 12-of-23 passes for 102 yards to go along with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He added two rushes for 16 yards as well. Watson is likely a better quarterback option for Houston than Savage, but he's still a work in progress.
Watson finished Week 1 with a disappointing -16.54 net expected points, per numberFire live.
