Cardinals' Jermaine Gresham not a high-end contributor
Arizona Cardinals tight end Jermaine Gresham has a cap on his receiving upside in 2017.
Gresham was extended through 2020 this offseason, a nice gesture after he posted 391 yards and two touchdowns on 37 catches last year. Still, despite the questionable nature of the Cardinals' receiving depth, Gresham is unlikely to be much more than a role player. He was bad in the blocking game in 2016, and is merely an oversized short-area receiver in an offense that doesn't feature tight ends.
Our models project Gresham for 27.5 receiving yards and 0.3 touchdowns on 2.3 catches in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. That's good for our 20th-best tight end in fantasy this week.
