Brian Hoyer gaining confidence ahead of 49ers' Week 1 matchup
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brian Hoyer is "a more confident guy," says head coach Kyle Shanahan.
"I just see a more confident guy who is up for anything,†Shanahan said. This is the first time in Hoyer's career that he's entered camp as the unquestioned starter, a fact that hasn't been lost on the veteran quarterback. “I think for me this has been the most fun I’ve ever had playing football. It’s the most comfortable I’ve ever been. Being able to come in day one and kind of be handed the reins and to having the control and implement the offense and do those things and get all the reps, I think it’s been huge.†Hoyer and the 49ers face the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
numberFire's metrics project Hoyer for 209.8 passing yards with 0.95 touchdowns and 1.1 interceptions in Week 1 versus the Panthers, making him the QB30 in our weekly fantasy rankings. He's tabbed for 11.1 FanDuel points at a cost of $6,400.
