Dolphins' Jay Ajayi projected for increased receiving work in 2017
Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi is projected to see an increase in receiving volume this season.
Ajayi burst onto the scene last year, racking up 1,272 yards and 8 touchdowns on 260 carries while adding 151 yards on 27 receptions. numberFire's models project him for a slight dip in rushing volume, but an increase in passing-game work.
Ajayi won't start his season until Week 2, as the Dolphins' matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been postponed, but he is our eighth-ranked running back in fantasy this year. We project him to tally 246.1 carries for 1,130.8 yards and 9.0 touchdowns as well as 45.2 receptions for 318.5 yards.
