Bengals give Vontaze Burfict $38.7 million extension through 2020
The Cincinnati Bengals signed linebacker Vontaze Burfict to a three-year, $38.68 million extension through 2020.
Despite plenty of character concerns and a checkered injury history, Burfict is routinely one of the best in the NFL at his position and he graded out as Pro Football Focus' top 4-3 outside linebacker last season. He turns 27 on September 24, which is the last day of his three-game suspension for an illegal hit made on Kansas City Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman in the preseason.
Burfict recorded 83 tackles, 2 sacks, 8 deflected passes, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble in 11 games.
