Vontaze Burfict (suspension), Bengals working on extension
Cincinnati Bengals contract-year linebacker Vontaze Burfict is working on an extension, reports ESPN's Josina Anderson.
Burfict, who opens the year on a three-game suspension for an illegal hit on Kansas City Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman in the preseason, is known for his dirty tendencies, but he's one of the best in the league at what he does. Pro Football Focus rated him as the top 4-3 outside linebacker in 2016. The sixth-year pro turns 27 later this month.
Burfict recorded 83 tackles, 2 sacks, 8 deflected passes, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble in 11 games.
