Josh Doctson

Josh Doctson considered a difference-maker for Washington's offense

Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Doctson can "really make a difference" for the offense, believes quarterback Kirk Cousins.

What It Means:

Doctson's talent has never been in question, but he's struggled to stay on the field since he entered the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2016 draft. "We just need him out there to show what he can do," Cousins said. "He'll really make a difference for our offense. I'm excited just as the fan base is to see what he has in the tank. We've had a good week of practice here and we've just got to continue to give him opportunities." Head coach Jay Gruden also sang Doctson's praises, calling him a "very natural route runner" and applauding his mental approach to the position. The second-year wideout will open the year third on Washington's depth chart behind Terrelle Pryor and Jamison Crowder. He's not a recommended play in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Per numberFire's weekly fantasy rankings, Doctson is tied for WR75 in Week 1. He's tabbed for 23.9 receiving yards and 0.19 touchdowns on 1.7 receptions, as well as 4.3 FanDuel points at a price tag of $5,200.
