Jets' Matt Forte calls trade rumors "fake news"
New York Jets running back Matt Forte says that the trade rumors about him are "fake news."
A few days ago, reports surfaced regarding Forte's name being on the trade block. Yesterday, however, ESPN's Rich Cimini said that he thought Forte was on the roster bubble. That might mean that a release could be in the works, but it wouldn't make much sense for a thin running back corps. Unfortunately, it might be more probable than a trade given Forte's almost un-movable $4 million contract. It's not like the Jets are going to be winning games anytime soon anyway.
Locked in to what should be a timeshare between he and Bilal Powell in New York, Forte is our RB32 with a projected output of 700.3 rushing yards, 3.8 rushing scores and 26.9 catches this season. If he's somehow moved, Bilal Powell -- our RB23 -- would become an even more intriguing option at running back.
