DeAndre Hopkins signs a 5-year, $81M extension with Houston
The Houston Texans have signed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to a 5-year, $81 million extension through 2022.
The deal includes a record 'nearly' $50 in guaranteed money as the Texans broke the bank as they locked down one of the NFL's top wideouts. Hopkins is coming off a down year, which is no indictment on the 25-year-old's talent but falls more on the shoulders of the horrendous quarterback play in Houston in 2016. He posted 111 catches, 1,521 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 2015.
Our models project Hopkins as the 12th-best wideout in standard fantasy leagues with 87.1 catches, 1,216.4 yards, and 5.5 touchdowns in 2017.
