Texans' Ryan Griffin says he has room to improve

Houston Texans tight end Ryan Griffin says that new position coach Tim Kelly has the Texans' tight ends a "step ahead," for the 2017 season.

What It Means:

Griffin added that, "we had a great year last year in the tight end room. We're always looking to get better. There's plenty of room to do that." After catching 50 passes for 442 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2016, it would be a tall order to repeat that playing behind C.J. Fiedorwicz. Even if Fiedorwicz ever went down, Griffin would only have minimal fantasy appeal in a run-heavy offense.

Our models project Griffin for 246.7 yards and 1.9 touchdowns on 26.2 catches. He is numberFire's 40th-ranked fantasy tight end for 2017.
