Panthers will not rush Star Lotulelei back from injury
The Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said the team will not rush defensive tackle Star Lotulelei (foot) back from injury.
Lotulelei stood on the sidelines during Monday's practice. He has not practiced since early August when he suffered a stress reaction on his right foot. Lotulelei is an important piece in the interior of the Panthers defense.
The Panthers ranked 19th in the NFL in our schedule-adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms project Lotulelei to finish the year with 38 tackles and 3.0 sacks
