Joe Mixon still working behind Jeremy Hill in Cincinnati
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon was the second running back into Saturday's second preseason game, behind Jeremy Hill.
Mixon did earn some snaps on the team's opening drive, but with Hill making the start, and remaining at the top of the running back depth chart, Mixon has some work to do the rest of the preseason if he wants to start in Week 1. The rookie gained just 16 yards on 6 carries on Saturday while Hill outperformed him with 28 yards on the same number of rushes.
Despite the slow preseason, our models still expect Mixon to be the running back to own out of the Bengals' backfield with 973.6 total yards and 7.4 touchdowns on 204.4 touches in 2017. He is our 19th-ranked running back in standard leagues with 139.7 projected fantasy points.
