Eli Rogers

Eli Rogers behind Sammie Coates on Steelers' depth chart

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers is behind fellow receiver Sammie Coates on the team's depth chart heading into Week 3 of the preseason.

What It Means:

According to a depth chart released by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Rogers is the fifth wideout on the team, at best. He comes in behind Coates and Antonio Brown, opposite Martavis Bryant, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Justin Hunter on the other side. It's unclear how he was unseated from the primary slot position, but it's safe to say that his two catches for three yards haven't been encouraging through two preseason games.

We project Rogers to finish the year as the Steeler's third-most productive receiver behind Brown and Bryant, but his 32.0 catches, 417.2 yards and 2.6 scores are still only good enough for WR81 in standard leagues. Whether third, fourth or fifth on the depth chart, there just isn't enough football to go around in Pittsburgh.
