Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon praised veteran quarterback Philip Rivers this weekend. "You know, Phil is Phil. Obviously he is amazing at what he does. Having a player of that caliber makes a complete difference," Gordon said after the Chargers' 13-7 loss to the Saints on Sunday, a game in which Rivers did not play.
Last season, Rivers passed Dan Fouts to become the Chargers' all-time passing yards leader. Despite that, Rivers struggled in 2016, leading the league with 21 interceptions, a career-high. His 60.4 percent completion percentage was the second-worst of his career.
Rivers is the 15th-best fantasy quarterback for 2017 based on our projections. We project him to throw for 31.2 touchdowns and 15.8 interceptions this season.
