Shane Vereen plays sparingly in Giants' second preseason game
New York Giants running back Shane Vereen logged just 2 carries for 16 yards in Monday night's second preseason game.
With Vereen locked into a role as the Giants' passing and third down back, the veteran did not see much playing time as New York gave Paul Perkins, Orleans Darkwa, and Wayne Gallman extra snaps. With the other three backs struggling, Vereen may end up being the back to own in a disappointing Giants' backfield, especially in PPR leagues.
Our models project Vereen for 283.2 rushing yards, 299.8 receiving yards, 42.3 catches, and 2.0 touchdowns in 2017. He is currently being drafted in the late-13th round in PPR leagues, according to FantasyFootballCalculator.com.
