Mike Evans expecting 'big things' from Buccaneers offense in 2017
After Tampa Bay's 12-8 preseason win over the Jaguars last week, Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans said of the offense, "If we can stay healthy, we can do some big things, I think."
Evans caught five of the six balls thrown his way in the Bucs' second preseason game, racking up 57 yards. With added receiving weapons DeSean Jackson and OJ Howard, and another year of maturation for quarterback Jameis Winston, Evans sees a big leap for a Tampa Bay offense that finished 19th in Adjusted Net Expected Points (NEP) per play last season.
Our models project Evans for 90.9 receptions, 1,350.0 yards and 9.4 touchdowns this season. He's our fourth-ranked wide receiver heading into the 2017 season.
