Trevor Siemian expected to win Broncos' quarterback battle
Denver Broncos teammates believe quarterback Trevor Siemian has already won the team's quarterback competition over Paxton Lynch, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.
This is in agreement with Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post, who wrote after Saturday's second preseason game that Lynch had already lost the position battle. Siemian was an impressive 8-of-11 for 93 yards and a touchdown in the exhibition, compared to the 26th overall pick from the 2016 draft, who struggled to read the opposing defense and move the ball down the field, finishing with 9-of-13 completions for only 39 yards. Legwold believes head coach Vance Joseph could announce his decision as soon as Monday.
numberFire's models have Siemian ranked 29th among fantasy quarterbacks entering the year. He's expected to complete 308.0-of-519.4 (59.3 percent) passes for 3,306.0 yards with 18.96 touchdowns and 14.3 interceptions in 2017.
