Browns run solely shotgun looks with DeShone Kizer

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer worked almost exclusively out of the shotgun set in the team's preseason opener.

What It Means:

Kizer used this set on around 95 percent of his snaps in college as well. This may be where Kizer himself is most comfortable, but it could also indicate less reliance on a downhill running game. Receiving back Duke Johnson would be more comfortable coming out of a shotgun set than likely committee "lead" Isaiah Crowell. Head coach Hue Jackson recently said about Johnson that "We are just trying to use him as much as we can," and this further reinforces that.

Our models project Johnson as fantasy football's RB41 this year, with 335 rushing yards and 2.48 touchdowns on 87 carries, as well as 48 catches for 415 yards and 0.86 scores.
