Matt Dayes could be surprise challenger in Browns' backfield
Cleveland Browns rookie running back Matt Dayes has "flashed," and is "establishing himself as an every-down back," head coach Hue Jackson believes.
Dayes was the second-to-last pick of April's draft. In the Browns' preseason opener, he He rushed three times for nine yards and a touchdown, adding three catches for eight additional yards. Dayes was a true three-down back in college, but doesn't stand out in any one area. His NFL ceiling is probably that of a solid all-around backup.
Our models project Isaiah Crowell to remain the fantasy leader in the Browns' backfield, coming in 13th at the position. We project Crowell for 857 rushing yards and 4.77 touchdowns on 210 carries, adding 44 receptions for 341 yards and 1.35 scores.
