Chargers, Mike Williams (back) eyeing October return
The Los Angeles Chargers and rookie wideout Mike Williams are targeting an October debut, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
As Williams recovers from a herniated disc, he is now sprinting and making "solid progress." Still, the team will not commit to a first month return, which leaves the reserve/PUP list as a possibility. In Williams' time out, expect Tyrell Williams, Travis Benjamin and Keenan Allen to take on more of the receiving load.
Based on his current timetable, our models project Williams for 33 catches, 400 yards and 2.5 touchdowns as a product of 57 total targets this season. If he lands on the PUP, though, that could decrease those numbers considerably. For now, he's WR85, which drops him outside draft-worthy range for the 2017 campaign.
